COVID/ Health Policy

First LG Preschool is committed to providing your child with a quality, Christ-centered education — while maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Due to COVID-19, we have made several changes to our policies during this unprecedented time. We believe that by enforcing these policies, we can limit the spread of this virus and maintain safe on campus learning. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Carpool: All students MUST be dropped off and picked up in car line. No parents/guardians/etc. may walk their students in. Although we would love getting to congregate and speak with parents/grandparents/guardians each morning and afternoon, we feel that limiting adult interaction inside the school will protect our students. Car signs, student pick up lists, and/or IDs will be checked before anyone can pick up your child.

Temperature Checks: Upon arrival each morning, a member of our staff will take your child’s temperature in carpool. If a child has a fever, we are kindly asking that they return home and do not return until they have been fever-free for 24 hours. If your child is running a fever or has had a fever in the last 24 hours, please do not send your child to school. If your child has a fever when we check, you will not be allowed to drop your child off at school.

Hand Sanitizer/Hand Washing - After having their temperature checked upon arrival, we are providing hand sanitizer to each child before entering the facility. Additionally, we require students to frequently wash their hands throughout the day.

Masks:  Teachers and staff will wear masks/face shields each day when checking temperatures during drop off and when handling food/drink.  At this time students are not required to wear masks.

Facility Cleaning-The facility will be cleaned throughout the day, and deep cleaned at the end of each day by teachers and staff. All toys, door handles, sink areas, and other frequently touched surfaces are regularly disinfected throughout the day. For toddlers, the remaining toys are separated into bins. Once a child is done playing with an individual toy, the toys are placed in a sanitized bin before they can return to the play area. At the end of the day, every toy is sanitized, regardless of which bin they are in. In addition, we have a cleaner that comes throughout the week to deep clean and sanitize the facility.

What do we ask of you?
If your child is sick, running a fever or has had or currently has any symptoms related to the corona virus - cough, fever, sore throat or has recently spent time with anyone who is sick, please stay home and return with a doctor’s excuse.

If we see your child with any of the following symptoms, we will remove them from the classroom and contact you.

For the safety of our preschoolers, if your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, we ask that he or she not attend until symptom free:

-Runny nose: green, yellow, or clear that is running profusely.
-Severe cough
-Spots or rashes: related to something contagious
-Oozy eyes and/or pink eyes
-Fever within the past 24 hours
-Vomiting within the past 24 hours
-Diarrhea within the past 24 hours
